Village Of Sussex : Waukesha And Maple Road Repair

Due to high pavement temperatures over the weekend we had two sections of road that buckled.

The first area is on Waukesha Avenue near Madeline Park at the Bugline crossing. The damage was significant enough that we had to re-route traffic on Elm Drive and Kneiske Drive. That repair will start tomorrow and we anticipate opening the road on Saturday. Please drive slowly through this residential area.

The other area is on Maple Avenue north of Maple Avenue Elementary School. This damage is on the older section of the road. It is not within the re-construction area from 2020. This area is still passable and has not required a detour. We are still working on a repair plan for this section, but know that the repair will take place after school is out for the school year.
