Volunteers Step Up in a Big Way to Help Sussex School District in Time of Need

Nearly $2,100 in school supplies were donated in the third year of the campaign through donation made by community members.

SUSSEX -- You may already know that the Sussex Hamilton School District is one of the best ones according to a recent Newsweek Ranking, but did you know that area volunteers are pretty special as well?

Sussex Lioness, Lions and Leo Clubs teamed up to “Stuff the Bus” with school supplies and books for students in need in the local community, and items were donated to Superintendent Paul Mielke, Ph.D., for distribution to students in the Hamilton School District.

Almost $2,100 in school supplies were donated in the third year of the campaign through donation made by community members at Lions Daze and financial donations from the Sussex Lions and Leo Clubs.

Community members were encouraged to drop off school supplies at various community events, North Shore Bank and Associated Bank in Sussex. Sussex Lioness Stuff the Bus Chair JoAnne Swanson organized the successful campaign.
