Why I want to enroll not one, but two of my children in virtual school

For any parent or guardian considering WCA, I highly encourage you to enroll.

These days there’s an overwhelming pressure for students to fit in with their peers and teachers at school, but isn’t that contradictory when we tell them to stand out? That’s what we wanted for our children – to learn and enjoy school.

This mentality was our motivation to send our child to Wisconsin Connections Academy (WCA), the state’s first, tuition-free virtual school. We found that our child could focus better when there weren’t distractions from other kids, and he could take the necessary time he needed to complete his schoolwork.

In addition, WCA provides resources that allow my son to flourish into who he is meant to be. The WCA website is like a “one-stop shop” where I can find my son’s detailed curriculum, course details, assignments and student progress tracker. This allows me to access all the information I need to know about his progress in one place. Additionally, a school counselor is available and has helped us determine the best possible courses to meet our son’s education goal. He is able to take the classes he enjoys, while pushing himself to take honors courses.

Because of these reasons, we’re enrolling our second child in WCA this fall. We hope that he can meet his full potential and enjoy learning just as his older brother does. Having everything organized in one virtual space, he’ll be able to follow a daily plan and get direct coaching.

For any parent or guardian considering WCA, I highly encourage you to enroll. To learn more about open enrollment, visit: www.WisconsinConnectionsAcadem...
