YMCA Greater Waukesha County Launches Well-Being Challenge

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County (GWC) will launch a free and open to the community six-week Stronger Together well-being challenge starting Monday, October 12 and running through November 22.

Recharge, refocus and renew health and well-being during these stressful and uncertain times by engaging in activities that strengthen spirit, mind and body. Whether new to the Y or a lifelong member, participants will join a supportive community and rediscover all the ways we are stronger together. As we head into the cooler months now is the perfect to time reenergize, feel better and accomplish goals.

Participants can complete their challenges at the location of their choice including one of YMCA of GWC’s six locations, home, virtually, or outside.

Weekly challenges and sample ideas include:
Week 1: Be Active 20 minutes per day 5 days a week
Week 2: Be Well Nourished with meal options and snack recipes that support a healthy diet
Week 3: Be Connected using Y Conversations Starters or virtual game night to engage with others
Week 4: Be Present during a Y meditation video, mindful eating session, or color with Mandala coloring page
Week 5: Be Grateful by writing a thank you note
Week 6: Be Committed to maintaining new healthy habits with an action plan

All challenges but weeks 1 and 6 suggest completing at least 3 relevant activities.

Participants sign up online or in person at one of the YMCA of GWC locations, pick up their welcome packet with challenge ideas, note progress on free tracker calendar or Y app, display participation with free window cling, and engage with Stronger Together community virtually, online or in person. Non-members receive six free Stronger Together Y facility passes.
