Waukesha vs. Madison: Waukesha Wins
Report finds that Waukesha is the wealthiest city in Wisconsin, 14th-wealthiest in Midwest.

WAUKESHA — Waukesha is the 14th wealthiest city in the Midwest, according to a new study by personal finance site NerdWallet.
NerdWallet analyzed 475 American cities with at least 65,000 people. They looked at the median household income and percent of homes without a mortgage, the monthly median home value and the average credit limit for credit card holders as reported in 2016.

Wealth - as defined in the study - is relative to where you live. For example, $150,000 could get you a decent house in Racine, but it wouldn't get you very far in the Chicagoland area.
When they added it up, Waukesha came in 14th in the Midwest region. Naperville, Illinois came in first, and Madison came in 16th.
