King Henry VIII had hoped to make Anne his mistress, as he had done earlier with her sister Mary. Anne denied the King, saying he would have to marry her and make her queen first. That caused a problem for the amorous King Henry, who was already married.

Anne was eventually given a title and she married King Henry in secret, although his marriage to Catherine was never dissolved. No one was safe in the chaotic court of King Henry VIII and Anne's enemies soon came out of the woodwork.

According to historical accounts, Anne was eventually charged with treason and incest, driven insane and beheaded. She is known for being the heroine of the English Reformation after King Henry had her beheaded for treason.
