Which Milwaukee-Area Community is Building the Most Single-Family Homes in 2016? The Answer May Surprise You.

Madison is building the most single-family homes in 2016. Check out who's the development hot spot in the metro Milwaukee area:

WISCONSIN -- The number one development hot spot in the State of Wisconsin so far in 2016 is Madison, which is building 176 single-family homes in the first 8 months of the year.

According to data compiled by the U.S. Census Bureau, those homes cost approximately $44,585,726 to build. That's a big chunk of change, and good revenue for construction companies. It's also good for a community hoping to add to its tax base.

We at Patch.com wanted to check out how single-family home construction fared in each of the Patch communities (14 in the metro Milwaukee area and 2 more statewide).
