2020 Harvest Fair Canceled Amid COVID-19 Concerns
The annual three-day event typically draws more than 75,000 people for fall-themed activities.

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — Harvest Fair, a three-day fall-themed event that draws nearly 75,000 people to the Wisconsin State Fair Grounds every September, has been canceled for 2020 amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic present in the state.
The annual three-day event that featured scarecrow making, pumpkin bowling and fall-themed food, drinks, shopping and more was originally scheduled for Sep. 25-27. It has been a yearly tradition for the last 26 years.
"As we did with the Wisconsin State Fair, all facets of Harvest Fair were analyzed in hopes of hosting this event. Unfortunately, it has been determined that there is no way to safely hold an event of this size and magnitude while we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the continued recommendations advising against mass gatherings, for the safety of patrons, staff, vendors, entertainers, sponsors, suppliers and the broader community, Harvest Fair is canceled for 2020," organizers said.
Organizers said the Centers of Disease Control and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services still advise against large in-person gatherings where it is difficult for individuals to remain spaced at least six feet apart.

"Considering Harvest Fair has the potential to draw nearly 75,000 people over the course of three days, this weighed heavily into the decision to cancel the event," organizers said.
