WAUWATOSA, WI — A local activist has teamed up with young Milwaukee artists to create a true story music video warning people about reckless driving.

Tracey Dent, head of Voices Against Violence, collaborated with local singers and created "Over The Limit," a music video warning against reckless driving.

The music video is based on a true story. In October 2020, a speeding driver in a stolen car hit and killed a 7-year-old girl on 76th Street and Calumet Road. Londyn Quesada was ejected from the car she was in when another driver struck her at a high speed and left the scene, WISN-12 reported.

Dent told the Shepherd Express that one of the artists who is close to the girl's father suggested doing a song after the incident. Production was pushed from October until this summer because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The video features Viv Vid, QB Speaks, Mani Imani and Crysy B. The Milwaukee Police Department was also a partner in the production.

The song tells a story similar to what happened to Quesada; a group of teenagers go on a joy ride in a stolen car, followed by a police chase and finally a deadly crash.

"It is part of an overall campaign to raise awareness of this terrible problem in Milwaukee," Dent told the Shepherd. "Our message is that reckless driving is not worth it, not worth stealing cars, speeding, risking lives."
