Nancy Welch
has been a planner and community development director for over 30
years. She has a Master of Architecture from the UWM-School of
Architecture and Urban Planning and is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Planners. In addition, she has completed training
courses from the National Trust for Historic Preservation,
International Economic Development Council, NOAA, Congress for New
Urbanism, and ongoing training from the American Planning
Association. Currently she serves as the Alderperson for District 3 in
Wauwatosa and volunteers for the Wauwatosa Historical Society, County
Grounds Coalition, Friends of the Monarch Trail, Friends of County
Grounds Park, and Wisconsin Humane Society. She and her husband,
daughter, and three rescue animals have lived in the Rockway/Brookside
Historic District for over 20 years.
Dennis McBride has served 10 years on the City of Wauwatosa Common Council – 2 terms as President. Dennis is a
co-founder of Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool, Inc., which operates
Wauwatosa’s community swimming pool and beer garden. He also co-founded Support
Our Schools (SOS) Wauwatosa and the Pasadena Neighborhood Association.
He served on the Wauwatosa Civil Service Commission for 15 years and
the Wauwatosa Historic Preservation Commission for 10 years. An attorney
for more than 30 years, Dennis worked for Boston and Milwaukee law
firms, taught part-time at Marquette University Law School, and spent 24
years as an attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission. Dennis is a graduate
of Wauwatosa East High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in
journalism from UWM, a master’s degree in public administration from
Princeton University, and a law degree from New York University.
