District Names New Principals to Washington, Whitman

Leadership vacancies have been filled at two Wauwatosa schools.

After resignations at both Washington Elementary and Whitman Middle schools, district leaders have announced they've filled those positions.

Thomas Hanley will lead Washington Elementary on a full time basis after he was named interim principal after Anthony Bonds resigned earlier this month, according to a report in the Wauwatosa NOW.

Hanley served for 12 years as principal of Golda Meir Elementary School in Milwaukee and was most recently coordinator of elementary curriculum for the Wauwatosa School District. He has 30 years of experience in education.

Over at Whitman Middle School, sixth grade social studies teacher John Kellerman will serve as associate principal. He has also coached cross country, basketball and track.

Kellerman joined the district in 2008 and has both a bachelor's and master's degree - both from Concordia University Wisconsin - in educational leadership and administration.
