Final Wauwatosa Police Chief Candidates And Virtual Public Interviews

The citizen-led Police and Fire Commission met to determine finalist candidates and announce details for the upcoming virtual public interviews.

The finalist candidates for Wauwatosa Police Chief are:
- James MacGillis
- Jeffrey Norman
- David Salazar
On Monday, June 14 at 5:00pm, the Police and Fire Commission will host virtual public interviews. Each candidate will answer the same questions. Some of the questions were provided by the public.

The public can view the virtual interviews via Zoom, and the video will also be streamed on the city’s website at Wauwatosa.net/meetingportal.
After the virtual public interviews, the Police and Fire Commission invites the public to complete a survey to provide feedback on the candidates. This survey will be open until June 16 at 12:00 pm. The survey link will be available at Wauwatosa.net/chief after the public interviews.
The Police and Fire Commission will tentatively have final interviews the week of June 21.
The Police and Fire Commission will make the ultimate hiring decision under Section 62.13 of the Wisconsin Statutes, which gives them sole authority over the selection of police and fire chiefs. We will continue to share updates about the process on the city’s website at www.wauwatosa.net/chief.

Members of the public may also access the public interviews by calling 1 (301) 715-8592 and enter Meeting ID 854 8469 8352 to listen to the public interviews via telephone.
The following commands can be entered using your phone's dial pad while in a Zoom meeting:
*6 - Toggle mute/unmute
*9 - Raise hand
