Friends of Hoyt Park and Pool Request Extended Hours

The group will approach the Plan Commission at Monday's 7 p.m. meeting.

Updated 9:32 a.m. Monday: Friends of Hoyt Park and Pool are requesting a conditional use permit from the Wauwatosa Plan Commission on Monday for extended operating hours.

The request is two-fold, according to Mary Pluta, director of communications for Friends of Hoyt Park and Pool:

  • Open 30 minutes earlier for member lap swim, at 5:30 a.m."Lap swimming has proven to be a very popular activity and we heard from a number of members that opening earlier would alleviate crowding and make it easier to get in a work out before they went to work," she wrote in an email.
  • Stay open until 11 p.m. so people who rent the Grand Hall for private functions have more time there.

Pluta noted that the request does not change normal, public swimming hours.
