Got Talent? Here's 'One Way' to Show It in Tosa
Cafe's open mic night sets the stage for unscheduled performers who are eager to share their art.

In a story Wednesday, we noted that with added evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays, the One Way Cafe & Gallery in the Village would also soon be adding live music, starting Aug. 10.
We should have said "established live music acts," or some such wording – because music is in fact already on the menu, including this Friday night.
But it's sort of a menu surprise, and anyone who has the talent and courage can be the cook.
"Open Mic Night" at the One Way Cafe, 1425 Underwood Ave., is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and will continue even as acts are booked to take the stage on Saturday nights beginning next week.
A coffee house tradition, open mics invite anyone up to showcase their musical artistry. Typically, that involves a guitar. But we have from time to time enjoyed a solo saxophonist playing smoky, sultry jazz, sweetly sentimental violins, and even an accordion or two.
It's sometimes a treat for the audience to see two (or more) musicians meet up for the first time and find they can improvise together.
So, whether you sing or play or just want to listen to whatever Tosa talent walks in the door, mosey down Friday to One Way Cafe and see who turns up.
