OA-MAI Invites New Members to Workshop on Compulsive Eating
Local Overeaters Anonymous group to hold newcomer workshop regarding disease of compulsive overeating, invites prospective members to attend
Overeaters Anonymous Milwaukee Area Intergroup (OA-MAI), the Milwaukee-based Service Body of Overeaters Anonymous, will hold a Newcomer Workshop for new and prospective members on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wis. The workshop is open to new members and interested individuals and there are no fees to attend.
The two-hour workshop will introduce attendees to the OA program of recovery from compulsive eating and/or compulsive food behaviors. Attendees will have a chance to ask questions, explore literature, meet current and prospective members, and identify local small group support meetings.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from on 10 a.m. – 12 noon, at the Lighthouse Building (building #14) on the grounds of the Aurora Psychiatric Hospital, located at 1220 Dewey Avenue, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

The purpose of the newcomer workshop is to introduce new and prospective members to the disease of compulsive eating, the promise of abstinence, and to carry the message of recovery to those who still suffer.

Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength, and hope, are recovering from compulsive overeating. OA welcomes everyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. OA is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology, or religious doctrine. The primary purpose of OA is to help members abstain from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors and to carry the message of recovery through the Twelve Steps of OA to those who still suffer.

The Milwaukee Area Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (OA-MAI) is the local affiliation of the international organization. It serves members who reside in the eastern half of Wisconsin including the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area, areas south to the state border and areas north to Green Bay and beyond. OA-MAI holds business meetings on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to attend any of the local support groups.
