Humberto E. Pasillas

Humberto Eduardo Pasillas, age 48, of Harvard, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Froedert Hospital, Wauwatosa, WI, after suffering a severe heart attack the previous week.

Born September 23, 1970 in Oak Lawn, IL, he was the son of Humberto M. and Ramona A. (Mendez) Pasillas. He was raised in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, and was a graduate of Curie High School. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Lance Corporal. He was employed by the Social Security Administration where he served as a Claims Specialist.

Humberto was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will never be forgotten by his family, friends and co-workers. He was actively involved in all of his daughters’ school and community activities, and was affectionately known as “Coach Dad” by all his daughters’ friends and team mates.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Dolores K. Gutierrez-Pasillas; his two loving daughters, Brianna and Micaela Pasillas; his parents, Humberto and Ramona Pasillas; one sister, Xochitl (Matthew) Washington; two brothers, Angel Pasillas and Saul Pasillas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Humberto will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL, where military honors will be accorded under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad.
