Overeaters Anonymous to Celebrate International Unity Day
Local Service Body of Overeaters Anonymous to hold event as part of the international Unity Day; Invites prospective members to attend
This coming weekend, the local service body of the international organization Overeaters Anonymous (OA) will gather at a free local event in celebration of Unity Day. Observed annually across the globe, Unity Day is an opportunity for OA members worldwide to pause and together reaffirm the strength inherent in OA’s unity.
“While OA members have widely varied symptoms and diverse backgrounds, the unity of OA's solution overcomes all differences and sets members on a common path where we welcome and value any prospective members,” said Joy M., a longtime member and current board member of OA Milwaukee Area Intergroup (OAMAI).
OAMAI, which serves the entire eastern half of Wisconsin, will observe Unity Day with a two-hour program in Wauwatosa featuring two unique panels, “Recovery from Relapse” and “The Maintenance of Daily Abstinence.” At the event, attendees will have a chance to ask questions, hear personal stories of recovery, explore literature, meet members, and identify local small support group meetings.
