Prizes Up To $1K Announced In Wauwatosa Vaccine Giveaway

The city will offer gift cards and dinner packages for residents who get their COVID-19 vaccine.

WAUWATOSA, WI — The City of Wauwatosa announced Wednesday that residents will be eligible for weekly prize drawings when they get their COVID-19 shot.

The city will hold two drawings each week for residents aged 12-17 and residents 18 and older starting July 23.

Prizes will range from hotel and dinner packages, gift cards to local business and more, the city said.

For residents 18 and over, five winners could earn prizes worth $500-$1,000 and 10 winners could earn gift cards to a local business worth $100, the city said. Among residents aged 12-17, 10 winners could earn gift cards to a local business worth $100.

Who is eligible?

All Wauwatosa residents are eligible if they receive at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including the Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccine prior to entering the drawing, the city said.

Individuals must be 12 and older to be eligible, the city added. Those between 12 and 17 need consent from a parent or guardian before they can enter the drawing.

How can you enter?

Residents can enter by getting vaccinated. They can get their vaccine anywhere and don't have to get it from the Wauwatosa Health Department, the city said.

After getting vaccinated, residents must fill out an entry form. They can complete the form online, by visiting the Wauwatosa Health Department, located at 7725 West North Avenue, or by calling 414-475-1050.

The prize drawing is funded by the American Rescue Plan, the city said. It added that the drawing's goal is to increase vaccination rates among Wauwatosa residents.
