MILWAUKEE, WI — A local Vietnamese restaurant started construction at a new location after closing its Wauwatosa location.

Hue Restaurant announced it will start building a new location at 2699 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., in place of the former Sven's Cafe. Hue will still operate out of their 2691 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. location until completion, the restaurant said.

"The project consists of a two story addition to the front of the existing building with three studio apartments on the second floor," the restaurant said. "The space will feature a patio on the S. Kinnickinnic/Logan Ave. corner, and an expanded dining room. The larger kitchen will be better suited to function as a base for Hue's Asian Kitchen Food Truck as well as catering and Squaremeal production."

"It is with many mixed emotions that we are announcing the closure of Hue Wauwatosa," the restaurant said in a Facebook post.

The restaurant serves beef, chicken and vegetarian pho, traditional noodle bowls and different beef and pork dishes. It also offers catering services and a food truck that serves in the Walker's Point neighborhood in Milwaukee.
