WAUWATOSA, WI — Citing the need to repair an overpass that was damaged when it was struck in 2018, authorities in Wauwatosa said they're closing a section of I-41 in Wauwatosa later this month to effect repairs.

According to information released by Wauwatosa officials, the northbound lanes of I-41 will be closed down overnight on July 19 and 20 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. from Mayfair Road to Burleigh Street in order to repair part of the Center Street overpass.

"You can anticipate the work overnight to generate loud noise if you’re near the highway," village officials said in a news release Monday. The work will involve demolition work on the overpass, officials said.
