Tosa Pick 'N Save On State Street May Get An Upgrade To Metro Market
Change was spurred by takeover of Roundy's by Kroger, who want to appeal to millennials and families looking for fast, fresh food.

WAUWATOSA - In a series of planned improvements since the company took over Roundy's, The Kroger Co. announced it plans to update the State Street Pick 'n Save to become the latest of the company's Metro Markets.
The upgrade to the more high-end market is part of Kroger's plans to invest more than $50 million to improve locations throughout the state and expand the Metro Market format.
The first Metro Market opened in downtown Milwaukee in 2004 and offers a experience different from the usual Pick 'n Save stores, offering a wider variety of fresh, prepared foods, a wine and cheese shop with more than 900 wines, full service coffee bar, beers on tap, kosher department. In addition to the downtown location, there are Metro Markets located in Mequon and Brookfield.

Plans haven't yet been filed with the city but a spokesperson said they could file as early as this week, according to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article.
Wauwatosa has seen an upswing in more upscale grocers as families and millennials are seeking fresher, healthier food options, with an Outpost Natural Foods across the street from Pick 'n Save, and Metcalfe's in the Village, which was remodeled and rebranded in 2016.
