Wauwatosa Attempt Homicide Suspect In Custody
Wauwatosa Police responded to shots fired following a car crash early Saturday in the area of North 77th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue.
WAUWATOSA, WI— Wauwatosa Police responded to shots fired following a car crash early Saturday in the area of North 77th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue, according to a police news release.
Officers determined that while the victim was driving home from work, a Chevrolet SUV quickly approached the victim and stopped in front of her, police said.
The SUV backed into the victim, causing significant damage to both cars. The driver of the SUV fired a handgun several times at the victim, breaking glass and hitting her car. The SUV then drove away from the scene and the victim reported the incident to law enforcement, police said.

No injuries were reported; the suspect was identified as the victim’s ex-boyfriend, police said.
Wauwatosa Police took one suspect into custody on Saturday afternoon. The investigation is continuing; this case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

This was a targeted attack and there is no threat to the public, police said.
