Wauwatosa Plan Commission To Discuss Luxury Tower Proposal

WAUWATOSA, WI— The Wauwatosa Plan Commission will discuss a proposed luxury apartment tower development during their Nov. 9 meeting. The proposed development proposed by Mo’s Restaurant owner John “Johnny V” Vassallo, is at 10845 W. Bluemound, on the former Edwardo's Natural Pizza site, in the southwest corner of the USH 18/STH 100 intersection.
The apartment building will have 25 stories and 354 residential units, common amenity spaces, a parking garage, and ground floor retail. Some of the proposed amenities include Amazon lockers, weight room, pool, grill area, cabanas, pet walking and relief station, movie theater, individual workspace, and conference rooms.
There will be a full time, 24/7 concierge and a valet service. This building would have full-time maintenance and cleaning staff. The anticipated employees on-site would be around 20 people.

"The mixed use development at 10845 W Bluemound Road will provide numerous benefits to the community including," online city documents said.
The documents said The high-traffic corner of Bluemound and Mayfair Road will be re-activated with the addition of street-level retail and resident amenities.

The documents also said the building and its landscape will improve the pedestrian experience of this vehicle-centric intersection. Bike facilities will encourage residents to utilize the nearby Hank Aaron State Trail, and the additional retail and density will increase the walkability score of the site, which is currently 52 (‘Somewhat Walkable’), online documents said.
The Plan Commission meets Nov. 9 via Zoom.
