Police Increase Presence Due To Wauwatosa School 'Threat'
The Wauwatosa School District was made aware of a "threatening" Snapchat post that referenced "West" High School and the date May 17.
WAUWATOSA, WI—The Wauwatosa School District was made aware of a "threatening" Snapchat post that referenced "West" High School and the date "May 17," according to a community email from the district.
The district said they are working with the Wauwatosa and Madison Police Departments to investigate the origin of the post, the email said.
In a follow-up communication, the district said, "At this time, we do not have reason to believe that the post was made by a Wauwatosa West student or that the post was specifically referencing Wauwatosa West High School. Out of an abundance of caution, we will increase the police presence at Wauwatosa West High School tomorrow. Again, we will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available," the email said.
