Wauwatosa Residents Happy, Yet Want Better Streets, Development
The results of the 2019 Wauwatosa Community Survey are in. Here's what makes us happy, and what we complain about:

WAUWATOSA, WI — Wauwatosa residents say they're happy to live in Wauwatosa and are pleased with the city's level of services, yet are less happy when it comes to the condition's of Wauwatosa roads and the path of development.
That's according to the results of the 2019 Community Survey of Wauwatosa which was completed this fall.
According to official meeting documents, the ETC Institute conducted the survey, and received a total of 413 completed surveys. The survey was sent to a random sample of Wauwatosa residents by mail and also online. Each survey took between 15 to 20 minutes to complete, organizers said.

According to the ETC Institute, the overall margin of error was 4.8 percent. You can see the full presentation here.
The survey indicated that 97 percent of residents indicated they were "very satisfied" or "satisfied' with Wauwatosa as a place to live. That figure was higher than the Midwest average of 76 percent satisfaction.

Residents ranked their satisfaction with city services, including fire emergency services at 92 percent, maintenance of street signs and traffic signals, 84 percent, and residential trash collection services, 93 percent.
Wauwatosa residents through the survey expressed that their city has some work to do.
The top community priorities that residents wanted their city to work on were as follows:
- Condition of Major City Streets
- Planning and Managing Redevelopment
- Traffic Flow and Congestion
- Efforts to Prevent Crime
