Wauwatosa Woman Steals Patrol Car After Arrest: Report

A woman stole a squad car while in custody and drove it for six blocks before pulling over and fleeing.

WAUWATOSA, WI - A woman stole a patrol car while in custody and drove it for six blocks before pulling over and fleeing on Thursday. She was arrested when a K-9 unit tracked her down under a porch.

Police responded to a domestic violence call about 5 p.m. Thursday that involved a couple near 68th Street and Wisconsin Avenue. After handcuffing the woman and placing her in the back seat, she got into the driver's seat and drove away, WISN 12 News reported.

A K-9 unit tracked her down under a porch and officers arrested her. The woman's name was not released.
