Yard Waste Collection Begins Monday In The City Of Wauwatosa

Wauwatosa will pick up yard waste from residents on the opposite week of their recycling week from Monday, April 17, through Oct. 13.

WAUWATOSA - The city has announced yard waste pickup for residents will begin Monday, April 17, and continue through Friday, Oct. 13.

Yard waste is collected the same day as garbage pickup and held on the week opposite of recycling pickup.

Leaves and brush must be separated from other household garbage and grass, clippings, root balls, vegetables, stumps, pet feces, and branches more than six inches in diameter will not be collected. Brush should be bundled with string or twine, not wire or plastic. Bundles can't be larger than four feet and heavier than 50 pounds.

Materials must be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. on collection day in reusable containers marked with "yard waste" in letters two inches or larges.

The city provides a fee-based special collection service for large piles of unbundled brush and branches. Call (414) 471-8422 to schedule a special pick-up for larger collections of yard waste.
