Zoo Family Farm Weekend Coming Up
Visitors will be able to shop locally-grown produce, take part in a milk chugging contest, learn how to make ice cream among other things.

MILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee County Zoo is hosting its annual Family Farm Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northwestern Mutual Family Farm on the Zoo grounds.
The Zoo is going to highlight Wisconsin’s rich farming history with fun farm-related activities for parents and children alike. Visitors will be able to shop locally-grown produce, take part in a milk chugging
contest and learn how to make ice cream among other activities.
Officials say Family Farm Weekend is the chance to learn where your food comes from and how it’s made when you visit the Zoo’s farm on September 8 and 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Activities Include:
Pedal Tractor-Pull Exhibition: Children under 10 years old and weighing 70 pounds or less have the chance to be a farmer for the day.

Wisconsin Spudmobile: Jump aboard the spudmobile, a mobile education
center. From the farmer’s field to your plate, learn the potato production process.
Milk Chugging Contest: Test your milk drinking skills against your friends, significant other or siblings.
Pickle Eating Contest: Challenge your friends, significant other or siblings to a pickle eating contest.
Demonstrations: Try your hand at making your own tasty treats, learn how to weave a basket and how the process works to get milk from the farm to your table.
Farmer’s Market: Pick up fresh local produce, as well as other farm-fresh items from Wisconsin farmers.
All activities are free with regular Zoo admission.
