2017 Top Delinquent Taxpayers in Whitefish Bay, Wis.

The top Whitefish Bay delinquent taxpayers owed the state more than $600,000 as of early 2017. That's about $300,000 less than in 2016.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI - There are many reasons why people owe back taxes to the State of Wisconsin, but for everyone who owes more than $5,000, the state publishes their names in a list for the public to see.

Research by Patch.com has found - as of earlier this year - that the top Whitefish Bay residents and businesses owed the state a grand total of more than $604,000 as of early 2017. That's approximately $300,000 less than the same number of Whitefish Bay delinquent taxpayers owed in mid-2016.

You could support the beginning of a decent public works project for that kind of money - or pay for a lot of veterans' services.

Here is the State of Wisconsin's list of the largest delinquent taxpayers in Whitefish Bay. We listed the top 11 (who owed more than $5,000) in 2016. This year, we listed the same number of taxpayers - and the amount owed went down.

ABOUT THE LIST
2009 Wisconsin Act 28 added a posting requirement for revoked sellers. Effective October 1, 2009, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue is required by section 73.03(64), Wis. Stats., to post information about delinquent taxpayers on the Internet if they have had a sellers permit revoked and have an outstanding delinquent balance.

The department will not post the accounts of taxpayers who have:

  • entered into a valid payment plan,
  • submitted a complete Petition for Compromise, or
  • filed for bankruptcy.
  • In addition, revoked sellers who have been out of business for at least one (1) year shall be removed from the revoked sellers Internet page

If your name or the name of your business appears on the Internet posting, the department strongly encourages you to:

  • Contact either the revenue agent assigned to your case (listed on the Notice of Pending Internet Posting) or the department’s Compliance Bureau at (608) 266-7879 to arrange for payment.
  • Pay the amount owed either by utilizing the payment coupon attached to the Notice of Pending Internet Posting or send your payment directly to the Compliance Bureau at the address listed below.
