Diamond Stone Getting Ready for NBA Draft

The former Whitefish Bay Dominican Star and Maryland player set to meet his new NBA team on Thursday

WHITEFISH BAY - The NBA Draft is this Thursday and former Whitefish Bay Dominican star basketball player is set to meet his new NBA team this week.

One year removed from a season of Big-10 basketball at the University of Maryland, the six-foot-eleven power forward/center is projected to be drafted anywhere from the late first round by the San Antonio Spurs, to a second-round selection by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Stone has been characterized as an "old school" and "traditional back-to-the-basket" post player, with a nice array of post moves, excellent footwork with exceptional touch and footwork around the rim to score with impressive body control and a really advanced feel for operating in the low post.

"I know what I'm capable of doing; I know that I'm one of the best bigs in the draft," Stone said at the Cousins Center. "I personally know that and I'm pretty sure these coaches and GMs know that too. My job is to go out here and just compete and show them all my talent," he told ONMilwaukee.

He's worked out for a number of NBA teams.
