Father Seth is pleased that by having the Rev. Dr. Swanson as preacher, Christ Church will be celebrating the 10th Year Anniversary of the Called to Common Mission (CCM) arrangement between the Episcopal Church-USA and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The agreement provides for ordained clergy of each denomination to preach and celebrate the Eucharist in either setting.
The Interfaith Steering Committee hopes you will be present to hear Dr. Swanson express his “…hope that students and teachers together learn to encounter Christians of other times and places, as well as people of faith from traditions other than their own, with hospitality of spirit and a readiness to learn in order to grow as theologians and leaders of faith communities in our religiously diverse world.” It is this spirit which embodies the purpose of the Meachem Grant, Christ Church received through the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee.
