Mother & Daughter Spa Day in the Bay

A Mother & Daughter Spa Day is being held on Saturday, April 2nd from 2-4pm at the Silver Spring Masonic Center, 517 E. Beaumont Ave., Whitefish Bay.  The event is free and open to the public.

Free chair massage will be given by graduates of the Milwaukee School of Massage, and VICI Beauty School students will be giving free hand treatments and manicures.  Tea, juice and desserts will be served.   The event is hosted by certified adult volunteers with Job’s Daughters International, a character building organization for girls ages 9-20.

Job’s Daughters, or “Jobies” as they are often called, teaches skills that help girls meet life’s challenges.  Each chapter, or “Bethel,” elects an Honored Queen and Officers to lead them for a six month term.  The Queen and Officers help run the group and take care of business such as keeping track of finances, planning events like fund raising, social and fun activities, all with the guidance of certified adult volunteers.

Job’s Daughters, founded in 1920, is seeing a resurgence in interest and membership with over 20,000 members worldwide.  Members have the opportunity to travel and meet girls from other Bethels and other lands.  Each year the organization awards scholarships at the international and regional level to help deserving girls achieve their educational goals.

The Spa event is being held to attempt to reinstate a Job's Daughters Bethel to the North Shore community which has been without one for over 20 years.   Those who attend the Spa Day will have a chance to meet and talk with Miss Wisconsin Job's Daughters, Jessica Flack and Miss Wisconsin Job's Daughters Congeniality, Maddie Harycki who will be available to share their experiences with the organization.
