Wednesday Winds Leaving Thousands Without Power

MILWAUKEE, WI — High winds are wreaking havoc across southeastern Wisconsin as thousands of customers are experiencing power outages. As of Wednesday afternoon, Milwaukee's north shore has been hit particularly hard. According to WE Energies, as of 3 p.m. Wednesday, 719 customers were without power. In Fox Point, 452 were without power. Bayside has 829 customers without power.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the rest of today. A Wind Advisory means that winds of 45 miles per hour or greater are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles on north to south roads. Use extra caution.

Dry weather and near normal temperatures are expected for Thanksgiving, followed by a wet holiday weekend. A rain/snow mix is expected on the front end of the precipitation on Friday, followed by mainly rain on Saturday. A changeover to snow is then likely as the precipitation exits on Sunday, with minimal accumulations expected.
