Girls Golf Team Wins Academic Achievement Award

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin recognized the Whitefish Bay girls golf team for earning the highest cumulative grade point average among all of the Division 1 golf teams in the state.

The Whitefish Bay girls golf team has the highest cumulative grade point average among all of the Division 1 golf teams in the state.

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin recently announced Whitefish Bay received the association's second annual Team Academic All-State award, which recognizes the teams with the highest GPA. Teams are defined as the five designated golfers for the WIAA regional tournament series.

Whitefish Bay's top five golfers boast a cumulative GPA of 3.888, edging out second-place Sheboygan North/South High School and third-place Union Grove High School in the Division 1 category. Whitefish Bay's top five golfers are Annie Letizia, Caroline Matkom, Robinson Creighton, Clare Matkom, and Grace Wirth. They are coached by Frank Donadio.

For their achievements, each of the girls will be presented with a gold medal, and the school wil receive a certificate of accomplishment.
