Milwaukee-Area March Planned To Mark 30-Year Anniversary Of ADA
The march will start at Cahill Square Park in Whitefish Bay and follow a 3-mile route through the North Shore-area.
WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A march to observe the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act will take place in Milwaukee's North Shore, and will take on a wider social justice theme this year.
The Americans with Disabilities Act 30th Anniversary March Against Hate will be held on Sunday, July 26 on the 30-year anniversary of the passage of ADA in 1990. The ADA is law that protects people living with disabilities against multiple forms of discrimination in the U.S.
"This critical civil rights law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public," organizers said. "Join us for an accessible march to continue discussion within our community on Black Lives Matter, racial injustices, systemic racism, and police reform."
