
A drunk driver hit a fence near Holy Family School last week, but she was soon caught by Whitefish Bay police on Hampton Road.
Whitefish Bay police noticed fresh damage to the vehicle after stopping it for an improper turn at Santa Monica Boulevard and Hampton Road at 2:53 a.m. on June 3. Visibly under the influence, she was screaming in the street and attempted to spit on the police officer. She also had beer in the vehicle.
She was cited for operating without insurance, failing to wear a seatbelt, operating after suspension, resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, improper left turn and open intoxicants in the vehicle.
In other police news:
- A bb gun vandalism spree that damaged 10 vehicles in Shorewood on June 5 also hit three vehicles in Whitefish Bay. Two of the vehicles were in the 4900 block of Hollywood Avenue and the other was in the 700 block of Lexington Boulevard. Police contacted one of the vehicle owners, who happened to be in possession of a bag of marijuana and a pipe that he was trying to conceal from officers. He was cited for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.Â
- Two rocks were thrown through the windows of the Whitefish Bay High School Fieldhouse hallway sometime between 9 p.m. on June 8 and 7:30 a.m. on June 9. Police plan on finding the vandals by viewing surveillance video.
- Police arrested a male subject at 11 a.m. on June 5Â for stealing patio furniture from the front of a house in the 5200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. The property was returned to the homeowner.
- A male was warned for panhandling at Hampton Road and Diversey Boulevard at 7:56 p.m. on June 8. He was sent on his way. Police then received another report of the man asking people for money at the Amstar gas station and CVS Pharmacy. He was cited for loitering/vagrancy and escorted out of the village.
