Whitefish Bay Board Approves Fall School Reentry Plan
Whitefish Bay students can either return to school this fall under a blended model or a stay-at-home virtual plan.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Students in Whitefish Bay will go back to school under a plan that blends in-person schooling with virtual learning after the school board unanimously approved the plan Monday night.
The Whitefish Bay School District board met Monday night — and early into Tuesday morning in a marathon session — to figure out how students would return this fall.
Under the plan, students would start the year with in-person learning at schools coupled with synchronous virtual learning. The board also approved a fully-virtual option for parents who do not want their children to return to school.

The plan also calls for flexibility if COVID-19 conditions force the North Shore Health Department to adjust their public health recommendations to account for an outbreak.
Under a blended schedule, about 50 percent of the students will be in school each day, according to a presentation made before the board Monday night. When the blended schedule is fully implemented, students will be assigned to either Cohort Group A — in school on Mondays and Tuesdays — or Cohort Group B — in school on Thursdays and Fridays.

Families will be informed of their student's Cohort Group shortly after online registration takes place, according to the presentation. Students in the same family would have the same attendance group.
Under the blended model, students would engage with the teachers and class content via Zoom/Google Meets, and the Learning Management Platforms for their level, whether they're Seesaw, Google Classroom or Canvas, the presentation stated.
