Whitefish Bay Drug Take Back Event Planned This Weekend

"This event is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs".

WHITEFISH BAY,WI— The next National Take Back Day will be October 24, 2020.

"This event is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs at locations in communities throughout the country," according to organizers.

The event will be at Whitefish Bay Village Hall from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on October 24.

The October 2019 Take Back Day brought in 882,919 pounds (almost 442 tons) of unused or expired prescription medication and vape devices, according to Whitefish Bay. This brings the total amount of prescription drugs collected by DEA since the fall of 2010 to nearly 12.7 million pounds.
