Whitefish Bay Offers Residents Reminders During Snow Storm

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — As the snow falls in Whitefish Bay, village officials are reminding residents to drive safely and give village snow trucks and plows plenty of room to clear the streets.
Village crews are clearing streets starting with the main thoroughfares before proceeding to streets adjacent to schools. After that residential streets and alleys will be cleared, village officials said via social media.
As the snow piles up, village officials are also reminding residents to help the fire department by adopting the fire hydrant closest to their home or business and keep it free of snow during the winter.

All residents and business owners are responsible for snow and ice removal from public sidewalks adjacent to their properties within 24 hours after a snow event, village officials added.
"Remember to clear all corners with crosswalks to help the children, elderly, and those with mobility concerns get around the village," village officials added.

Finally, residents are asked to utilize their driveway apron or clear a portion of the parkway for refuse and recycling cart placement. Snow and ice must be cleared around the cart(s) as well as the lid. Do not place refuse and recycling carts in the street, village officials said.
