In December 2019, the Milwaukee Winter Club, a non-profit youth hockey organization, and the Village of Whitefish Bay agreed to a partnership to provide a regulation sized ice rink at Cahill Park this winter.
Construction has started on the project started month ago. The pad for the ice rink chiller was poured in October followed by rink insulation installation.

A second rink is also in the works. This year MWC will get exclusive use of the smaller, second rink. However, this year they are paying for all capital and utility costs associated with the smaller second rink, according to the Village. The second rink had been planned for the future, but it was expedited this year.
The equipment can be removed and residents will have access to the tennis courts in the spring, according to the Village.
