Whitefish Bay Welcomes New Art Studio…with a ‘Twist’

Nation's Original Art & Social Studio, Painting with a Twist Opens First Wisconsin Studio

Aspiring to bring a new creative outlet to the Milwaukee area, Painting with a Twist will open its first
Wisconsin studio in Whitefish Bay on Jan. 4, 2018. A place where friends come
together to paint, drink wine and discover their inner artist, Painting with a
Twist – Whitefish Bay is located across from Dominican High School at 155 E.
Silver Spring Dr., Suite 201.

Painting with a Twist –Whitefish Bay is part of the nation’s original and largest paint-and-sip
franchise that inspires guests to have fun and create lasting memories through
art. A class at Painting with a Twist is led by local artists, and guests
create personal masterpieces using paint, brushes and materials provided by the
studio. While guests traditionally paint on bare 16” x 20” canvases, various
mediums to paint on are offered in specialty classes including, smaller and
larger canvases, seasonal sets of mini canvases and wooden cutouts. There are
more than 10,000 original pieces of copyrighted artwork, ranging from
landscapes, abstracts and cityscapes, to creative renderings of animals, iconic
buildings and florals. Painting with a Twist – Whitefish Bay offers
Wisconsin-made beer and wine for purchase in-studio.

The new art studio is owned and operated by local entrepreneur, Brendan Makarewicz. While attending
law school in Pittsburgh, Makarewicz went to a Painting with a Purpose class at
a local Painting with a Twist studio and fell in love with the company’s
emphasis on giving back to the community. Makarewicz realized Painting with a
Twist would be a great addition to his home state and is excited to introduce
Painting with a Twist to Wisconsin residents for the first time.

“At Painting with a Twist, we teach fun art, not fine art,” said Makarewicz. “Appealing to all
ages, our classes provide a wonderful way to connect, not only with others, but
also with your inner artist. Painting with a Twist is a unique new
entertainment option for the Milwaukee community and I couldn’t be more excited
to bring the concept to my hometown for the first time.”

Although the concept of paint-and-sip has been around for years, Painting with a Twist founders Cathy
Deano and Renee Maloney have perfected it into a successful business formula.
As the social art trend continues to pick up steam, Painting with a Twist,
the nation’s paint-and-sip industry pioneer, has both guests and franchisees
alike lining up at the doors.
