Yorkie-Carrying Whitefish Bay Man Cited For Disorderly Conduct

Whitefish Bay police say a 28-year-old Whitefish Bay man was cited for disorderly conduct after a confrontation with a woman on the street.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A 28-year-old Whitefish Bay man has been cited for disorderly conduct after police say he ran at her while carrying his Yorkie after she refused an earlier conversation with him on the street.

According to Whitefish Bay call logs, an officer was called to the intersection of N. Santa Monica Blvd. and E. Birch Ave. just before 2 p.m. on July 28 on a report of suspicious activity.

Police said a woman was walking outside when the man approached her and starting "making comments about her attractiveness" and tried engaging her in conversation despite her declining.

According to police, at one point, the man picked up the Yorkie that he was taking for a walk, and started running toward the woman. Police said the man stopped and walked away when he noticed that the woman pulled out her cell phone.

Police said the woman's friends walked her home for her safety.

According to police, officers found a man who matched the suspect's description about an hour later on the 5500 block of N. Berkeley sitting on his front porch.

Police said the man admitted to talking with the woman, and police said he would be cited for disorderly conduct.
