Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. A Scottsdale-based team has developed two transponders for the NASA Orion spacecraft. General Dynamics Mission Systems developed the two transponders to allow the spacecraft to communicate outside the earth's orbit. They work like high-tech radios. The Artemis 1 test flight, which was delayed due to weather issues, will be carrying three mannequins. (AZ Family)
  2. The Arizona Black Rodeo is scheduled for Sep. 2-3 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The rodeo will be celebrating its 11th year of operation. More than 100 participants will be featured, competing in various events such as traditional rough stock and timed bull riding. (AZ Central)
  3. Maricopa County Parks is offering a "buy one, get one" camping promotion starting Oct. 1. The return of the popular promotion will hopefully provide some financial relief to families eager to return to the great outdoors as the temperatures drop. Click for a list of parks that will be participating in the promotion. Call 602-506-2930 to book a reservation. (ABC15)
