Saguaro athletic director quits amid claims of inappropriate messages (azcentral.com) — Scottsdale parents should know that Saguaro High School’s athletic director and assistant principal resigned after allegations he sent inappropriate messages to a student, with the Scottsdale Unified Governing Board accepting his resignation this week. District leaders quickly removed him from campus, notified families at both Saguaro and Mohave Middle School, and reported the matter to Scottsdale police and the State Board of Education while reiterating strict rules on staff-student communication.
   

2. Officer, driver hurt after crash in Scottsdale (azfamily.com) — A Scottsdale police officer and another driver suffered non-serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash that shut down the Osborn Road and Drinkwater Boulevard intersection late Saturday morning. The officer was taken to the hospital for evaluation, while the other driver declined transport. Police expect the intersection to remain closed for about two hours as investigators process the scene, so drivers should plan alternate routes nearby.
   

3. 'Castle on the Hill' up for auction in Scottsdale (azcentral.com) — A well-known luxury property nicknamed the “Castle on the Hill” in Scottsdale, estimated at around $24 million, is heading to auction, drawing attention in the high-end local real estate market. Photos highlight the estate’s dramatic hillside presence, underscoring its status as one of Scottsdale’s priciest residential offerings.
   

4. Surprise! These 2 Arizona Cities Rated High for 'Most Caring' In the U.S.! (thunder981.com) — Scottsdale just earned national recognition as the 3rd “most caring” large city in the country, ranking especially high for how it supports vulnerable residents through adoption rates and low child poverty. A new WalletHub study placed Scottsdale and Gilbert in the top five, with several other Valley cities also making the top 100. The rankings highlight strong volunteerism, charitable giving, and helping professions across Arizona.
   

5. Woman Diagnosed With Rare Cancer at 50 Reveals Symptoms She Mistook for a Sinus Infection (today.com) — A Phoenix woman’s rare nasal cancer was first spotted by a Scottsdale doctor and confirmed by a local Scottsdale lab after she mistook her symptoms for a sinus infection or COVID. Her diagnosis led to complex surgery and radiation at Johns Hopkins, and she now lives cancer-free in Arizona while continuing regular follow-ups and adapting to life without a sense of smell.
