Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- A recent ranking by Forbes has listed Maricopa County Community College District as one of the best employers for women. The district was ranked No. 5 on the list of Higher Education Institutions. The list was compiled using surveys from about 50,000 Americans. Up to 58.28 percent of the district's workforce is women. (AZ Family)
- The Flagstaff Police Department arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping a 6-month-old baby in Scottsdale. Carlos Umberto Guardado Orellano, 19 years old, for arrested in a Walmart parking lot. The child was rescued without getting injured. Orellano is being transported back to Maricopa County to face various charges. (12 News)
- Scottsdale families are reminded that rattlesnake season runs through Oct. Recently, a Scottsdale family dialed Rattlesnake Solutions to remove one that was located on the front porch. The crew ended up removing an entire bucket of snakes from the residence after a nest was located. Rattlesnakes will primarily keep to themselves, however. (Fox 10 Phoenix)
