McDowell Sonoran Preserve Will Close On 4th Of July
The city of Scottsdale is shutting down McDowell Sonoran Preserve at noon on the 4th of July and reopening it at sunrise July 5. Here's why.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Anyone looking to celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks inside Scottsdale's McDowell Sonoran Preserve is out of luck.
That's because the city will close the facility from noon Sunday through sunrise on Monday, in an effort to prevent the spread of wildfires in the area.
The fireworks ban applies to all facilities at the park, including the parking lot, the city said.
