  1. A Missouri man has been indicted for allegedly threatening an elected official in Maricopa County. According to investigators, Walter Lee Hoornstra, 50, threatened the county's Recorder's Office during last year's review of the 2020 election. Hoornstra left the threatening voice message on the elected official's personal cell phone. (12news.com KPNX)
  2. The Scottsdale Forum has been bought for $53.6 million. The unique 214,000-square-foot office space was bought by Federal Reality Investment Trust. The property located at 6263 N. Scottsdale Rd. features a gaming area, an outdoor courtyard, and an on-site deli. The buyer plans to combine it into a larger Hilton Village retail site. (AZ Big Media)
  3. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office reports its homicide caseload has reached a record high. The increase has been attributed to a significantly violent weekend. The office received six homicide cases during the Aug. 12-14 weekend. The increase is being felt across the country. Violent crimes have gone up by 5.6 percent between 2019 and 2020.
