SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A new COVID-19 vaccination site will launch at Scottsdale's WestWorld exhibition center on April 22.
The governor announced the launch of the new facility on Monday. The new location was formed by a partnership between the Arizona Department of Health Services, Cigna and the city of Scottsdale.
The new indoor facility will initially offer 3,000-4,000 appointments per day and operate from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day. It will have an initial capacity of 10,000 appointments per day, the governor's office said.

“With another new site, Arizona is once again expanding our capacity to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to all Arizonans,” Governor Doug Ducey said in a statement. “Out of the more than 3.7 million vaccine doses administered in Arizona, more than 1 million of those doses have been provided through state-run vaccination sites. I encourage all Arizonans to schedule an appointment and get vaccinated as soon as possible. The vaccine is safe, effective, and free of charge.”
Insurance provider Cigna will handle day-to-day operations at the Scottsdale site, including clinical staffing and pharmacy services, the governor's office said.

“Widespread vaccination is one of the most important steps we can take, a step toward returning to the people and the places we love,” Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega said. “We support this historic effort, and we hope to see many thousands of our friends and neighbors getting vaccinated here soon.”
In addition to the WestWorld site, the governor's office announced that the drive-thru facility at Glendale's State Farm Stadium will transition from a 24/7 operation to being open from 5 p.m.-to-9 a.m. this week.
The Glendale facility will transition across the Westgate property to Gila River Arena from State Farm Stadium on April 23, the release said.
