• What could happen to the school buildings Arizona districts are voting to close (azfamily.com) — Scottsdale Unified has voted to close two schools, including Pima Elementary, and neighbors are now wondering what will happen to the soon-to-be-vacant campus their tax dollars funded. The district, like others across the Valley, faces low enrollment and budget pressures and is weighing limited options for reusing or repurposing the buildings. No final decisions have been made yet for the Scottsdale sites. 
• Phoenix-area caregivers help 102-year-old woman keep birthday tradition alive (azfamily.com) — A 102-year-old Phoenix woman kept her cherished birthday carousel tradition alive thanks to local caregivers who took her to the Arizona Boardwalk in Scottsdale. Suncrest Hospice staff organized the special ride so she could celebrate with family and honor memories shared with her late husband.
