- The Scottsdale Police Department is hosting a career mixer tomorrow (Dec. 8). During the event, the department will highlight three positions: police officer, detention officer, and communications dispatcher. The mixer will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Witzeman Public Safety Building, located at 8401 E. Indian School Road. - A Tempe-based construction contractor has been ordered to pay $2.6M for unpaid overtime. A federal judge in Arizona approved the judgment against Valley Wide Plastering Construction Inc. after they allegedly failed to properly pay overtime wages and failed to preserve certain timekeeping records between 2015 and 2022, according to court records. Those who may be entitled to a portion of the settlement can contact the Labor Department at 602-407-5323. (12news.com KPNX)
- On Monday, Mesa broke ground on a northeast public safety facility that will house a fire station and police substation. The new Northeast Mesa Public Safety Facility, which is approximately 50,000 square feet, will work to address emergency response needs in the community, according to a press release. The complex's construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. (KTAR.com)
